Message Hey guys, some ASSHOLE!!! hit my Z the other day. He t-boned me, and more or less I scraped my passenger side door off, smashed my fender up, scuffed my bumper, and the door pushed in part of the quarter panel. Also the wheel front passenger's side wheel looks like it's got some negative camber to it now.

The insurance guy ran a quote of 3,800 without including the wheel, should anything be damaged under there... When I asked about it he changed his attitude real fast and said, "Well then we might have to total it!"

So my question is...How should I best approach this? The car is a 91 twin turbo, super white, just got brand new turbos (300-500 miles at most) and it's only 91k miles. The car was in great shape before, no rust, very few dents, no major mechanical issues (sometimes vent motors wouldn't work, antenna didn't go up), maybe a mere 3-4, 1 tiny scratch, and maybe 3-4 small hardly noticeable paint chips. I know the car well, every paint chip makes me cringe when I see it, haha. Anyhow, what do you think the value of the car is if they total it if the suspension is messed up as well.

I'm really frustrated right now because this car really means the world to me and the autobody shop is pussyfooting around getting back to me with an estimate.

I plan 100% to fight over the value of this car if they're not at least offering $12,000, which I'm certain is more than the repairs. I know that seems inflated and all, quite high, but at the very least it's a starting point. Anyone ever had to do something like this?
